2. Cultural Events of the Embassy

Inauguration ceremony of the Cultural Grassroots Grant offered by the Government of Japan for the Judo Federation at Bouddha Club – Adma.
On March 19, 2013, the signing ceremony took place at the Embassy’s premises in Beirut in the presence of H.E. Mr. Seiichi Otsuka and the President of the Lebanese Judo Federation Mr. François Saadé. The grant consists on providing tatamis and Judo uniforms for the amount of US$24,596 for the use by judo clubs and the national team.
3. Embassy’s Patronage to Events Related to Japan
The Embassy of Japan is willing to grant patronage to the cultural events related to Japan organized by a third party when the following conditions are met.
(1)The entire event needs
- to be firmly related to Japan
- to be politically and religiously impartial
- to be non-profitable
- to be open to public
(2) Submission of Required Documents
If the conditions are met, please send the following letters to the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon, Section of Cultural and Public Relations Affairs culture@bt.mofa.go.jp at least three weeks prior to the event

- Income/expenditure of the event
- Letter of Pledge
- Profile of the organization
After approval from the Embassy, the organizer may use some of the decorative items available during the event. ..\..\rental items\items list.docx after signing the pledge ..\..\rental items\Pledge.docx
4. Rental of Japanese materials
The Embassy has some Japanese decorative items which may be nice to display as part of an exhibition for any event related to Japan at University or school or any NGO.
- The event needs
- to be firmly related to Japan
- to be politically and religiously impartial
- to be non-profitable
- to be open to public - Submit a request explaining the event and designating the nature, place, date and time of the event at least three weeks prior to the event to culture@bt.mofa.go.jp.
- The chosen items are taken and brought back to the Embassy’s premises in Beirut and handled to the person in charge.

5. MEXT Scholarship for post-graduate studies
The Government of Japan offers scholarship to Lebanese students for post-graduate studies in Japan for the academic year starting in April 2015 or in October 2015.
The program will be announced after the latter half of March 2014. No documents or inquiries will be accepted till then.
The scholarship program covers all the fields of study at all the Japanese universities and will provide full coverage of tuition plus monthly allowance to the students.
No prior knowledge of Japanese language is required. However, knowledge of Japanese is definitely a plus in the application process. The applicant must be under 35 years old and bear Lebanese national and is required to submit the application filled with all the requested documents.
An applicant should apply for the field of study he/she studied previously at university or any related field. Applicant must choose a field on which he/she can receive education and perform research at the university of his/her choice.
If a grantee enrolls in a master's course, doctoral course, or professional graduate course after arrival to Japan, regardless of the time of his/her arrival in Japan the scholarship will cover him/her for a period necessary for Grantee to complete his/her regular course (standard course term). (Plus a 6-month Japanese language training period for a grantee who needs such training.)
If Grantee desires to proceed to a regular graduate course from a Research Student course, or to a doctoral course from a master’s course or a professional graduate course, he/she may have the term of his/her scholarship extended upon successful examination by MEXT provided that he/she has outstanding academic achievement that meets certain criteria.

Ⅱ Education
The Japanese Government Scholarship Program offers Lebanese the chance to study in Japan. This Scholarship will be provided to those who wish to pursue their postgraduate education in Japan. Further information can be found on the Scholarship page.
