Ambassador visited Inaya Foundation in Zgharta | The bus which Japan provided in 2009, is an important transportation tool for the people with special needs |
Monday, 12 January, 2015 – Japanese Ambassador Mr. Seiichi Otsuka visited the Zgharta Community Clinic upon the completion of a project funded by the Government of Japan through its Grassroots Grants Program (GGP). The Clinic is run by the René Moawad Foundation (RMF), which implements various development programs to support the most vulnerable communities in Lebanon in the fields of health, education, human rights and democracy, agriculture and vocational training.
The Japanese Grant was used for purchasing necessary medical equipment such as an Echo Doppler and a full dental chair to enhance the quality of medical services at the Clinic. This is the second time for Japan to support this Community Clinic, which faces increasing demands in the North, especially in suburbs of Tripoli and the regions of Akkar and Dennieh.
During his tour in Zgharta, Ambassador Otsuka also visited the Inaya Foundation. The foundation runs a center in Zgharta for the people with mental and physical handicaps. In 2009, Japan funded the association to improve its educational environment as well as the transportation system.
