Director-General IWAMOTO Keiichi Holds Talks with Deputy Prime Minister Tarek MITRI

On 4 August, Mr. IWAMOTO Keiichi, Assistant Minister and Director-General for the Middle East and Africa Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Ambassador Yokota, held bilateral discussions over dinner with H.E. Dr. Tarek MITRI, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic.
The two sides exchanged views on recent developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as on Japan–Lebanon bilateral relations. They reaffirmed the importance of advancing peace and stability, and promoting Lebanon's sustainable recovery and economic development.
The meeting marked a renewed momentum in Japan–Lebanon relations, reflecting the shared determination of both countries to deepen political dialogue and expand cooperation as Lebanon advances its efforts towards peace, stability and a new chapter in its history. Japan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Lebanon's recovery and development in partnership with the international community.
