Director-General IWAMOTO Keiichi and Ambassador Yokota Hold Luncheon with Lebanese Ministers and Business Leaders

On 4 August, Mr. IWAMOTO Keiichi, Assistant Minister and Director-General for the Middle East and Africa Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Ambassador Yokota attended a luncheon with H.E. Dr. Amer BISAT, Minister of Economy and Trade, H.E. Mr. Joe AL KHOURY, Minister of Industry, H.E. Dr. Nizar HANI, Minister of Agriculture, as well as representatives of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) and the RDCL (Lebanese Business Leaders Association).
 
The representatives exchanged views on ways to deepen Japan–Lebanon economic cooperation through business and private sector partnerships. Furthermore, they discussed opportunities presented by GREEN × EXPO 2027 to be held from March to September 2027 in Yokohama to promote Lebanon's rich natural environment, history, culture and gastronomy to a wider international audience, while enhancing the global recognition of Lebanese products and encouraging exports of high-quality agricultural and processed food products.
The participants shared the vision that stronger business ties can contribute to sustainable economic growth in both countries and support Lebanon's recovery through expanded trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
