2025/10/13

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Magoshi Masayuki, Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, delivered opening remarks at the launch of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Programme held at the Green Demonstration Room of the Centre for Educational Research and Development (CERD) in Jounieh. Highlighting Japan’s contribution to support teachers and learners in crisis-affected schools, Ambassador Magoshi underlined the importance of protecting human dignity through the lens of human security, and emphasised the vital role of psychosocial support in helping children and educators overcome trauma, regain confidence, and unlock their potential.
Ambassador Magoshi stated: “Education is more than a right — it is a lifeline. It restores dignity, builds peace, and gives every young person the power to stand tall, even when the world feels uncertain beneath their feet.” He also reaffirmed Japan’s global leadership as an Education Champion country following the 2022 Transforming Education Summit and its commitment to the Greening Education Initiative and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), stressing that education must nurture resilience, hope, and transformative change for the future of Lebanon.
