The Embassy of Japan in Lebanon is currently looking for a qualified candidate who will work as a temporary local staff (secretary) at its temporary office in charge of Syrian affairs. This is a great opportunity for those with experience working in secretarial and/or regional and international affairs at diplomatic missions and/or international organizations.

Job Description
- Job Title: Temporary Local Staff (Secretary)
- Department/Office: Temporary office in charge of Syrian Affairs, Embassy of Japan in Lebanon
- Duration of Employment: 1 year (including 3 months of probational period)
- This position does not lead to a permanent contract
Qualification and Requirements*
- A bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a related field (e.g. secretary or regional and international relations).
- Fluent in English and Arabic (speaking, writing, and reading skills). Ability to translate and interpret between the two languages.
- Well-acquainted with the history, geography, politics, economy, security and society of Syria.
- More than two (2) years of professional experience in secretarial work and/or regional and international affairs is considered an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Flexible with working hours.
- Physically and mentally healthy.
- Ability to work punctually, politely, professionally, and cooperatively with others.
Working Information
- Working place is temporary office in charge of Syrian Affairs, Embassy of Japan in Lebanon.
- Basic working hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 (lunch break: from 12:30 to 13:30), Monday to Friday.
- Salary will be determined based on the past career and the certain standards in Lebanon.
