The Embassy of Japan in Lebanon is currently looking for a qualified candidate who will work as Clerk, Political Section. This is a great opportunity for those who have been working in the field of political, regional and international affairs, particularly through research and analysis.

Please note that this position is only for Lebanese nationals.

  • Department/Office: Political Section, the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon
  • Probational Period: 3 months
 
Job Description
To summarize key political issues daily using the major newspaper and make daily and weekly report to the Embassy staff,
  • To research political and other issues specified and requested by the Embassy staff, 
  • To assist contacting local authorities in regard to the political relationship between Japan and Lebanon,
  • To support the coordination and arrangement with local and international partners in regard to political affairs of Lebanon,
  • To prepare requested report to line Manager(s).
 
Qualification and Requirements*
Academic Background:
  • ​A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a related field (e.g. International Relations, International Development Studies, Project Management)
Work Experience:
  • Three to five years of professional experience in related fields (politics and international relations).
  • Progressively responsible experience in research and analysis.
  • Experience in a politics-related job at Universities, Research Centers, other Embassies, UN agencies, International organizations is considered an advantage.
Languages and Tools:
  • Fluency in Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic) and English.
  • Capability to translate and interpret between the two languages.
  • Working knowledge of French would be an asset. 
  • Skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams). 
Others
  • In principle, it is required to commute and work in the office every day, depending on the situation.
