On May 30, Ambassador Magoshi participated in the closing ceremony of a project funded by Japan and implemented by UN-Habitat in Tripoli aimed at addressing the growing socio-economic challenges on the community level. The comprehensive aid approach included capacity building and job creation in urban farming to help drive local economic growth and improve food security. The project helped as well with the provision of water and renewable energy solutions for the educational and healthcare sector.
Human security is a fundamental pillar in the Japanese Government’s Development Cooperation Charter, and through its aid policy in Lebanon Japan will continue to prioritize development and humanitarian projects aimed at alleviating the burden of the multifaceted crisis on the most vulnerable communities across the country.
