Ambassador Magoshi’s Message on the Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor

2024/2/23
I am pleased to share with you that today marks the 64th birthday of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, which is celebrated as the National Day of Japan. Unfortunately, this year we have decided not to host the annual reception due to the current situation. I sincerely pray that the internal and regional situation, especially the situation in the south of Lebanon, will be stabilized as soon as possible.

This year marks the 70th anniversary for the establishment of diplomatic relationship between Lebanon and Japan. Japan, as a friend in need, stands on maintaining its support for the most vulnerable people in Lebanon and for vital sectors, such as education, health, food, water and energy.

On this occasion, I hope that the presidential election and the required reforms will be soon carried out and pave the way for Lebanon’s sustainable development, which is the key to the stability of the entire middle east.

We will remain committed to further strengthen the amicable relations between Japan and Lebanon.

Magoshi Masayuki
Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon
