On September 13, Ambassador Magoshi participated in a tour with the World Food Programme (WFP) of a food-parcels distribution site in Tripoli in the framework of a Japanese assistance aimed at securing the basic food needs of the most disadvantaged Lebanese households. This assistance came as a direct response to the deteriorating food security situation in Lebanon that got exacerbated by the ongoing socio-economic crisis and the repercussions of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

During the tour Ambassador Magoshi was briefed on the delivery mechanism of the food-parcels and discussed with the beneficiaries the positive impact that this support has had on their livelihoods. Japan, through its aid policy in Lebanon, has been prioritizing development and humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating food insecurity across the most vulnerable communities.
