Japan continues to support women’s participation in the Lebanese labor market through UN Women

 
On July 10, Ambassador Magoshi participated in a ceremony held at a factory in Beirut for the manufacturing of affordable sanitary pads. Japan supported this factory through UN Women and its partners, by equipping the facility with advanced machineries and a solar power system, to combat period poverty and secure employment opportunities for vulnerable women.
 
Under the framework of this project, Japan has also supported two other similar factories, in Tripoli and Saida, and helped establish community kitchens to empower hundreds of women economically and socially, especially those with disabilities.
