Cabinet Decision on Revision of Development Cooperation Charter

On June 9, the Cabinet decided on the revision of Development Cooperation Charter.

  1. After Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs announced that the government would revise the Charter last September, an advisory panel was established under the Minister. The revision process proceeded taking into account the discussions of the panel and inputs from a wide range of the public including through meetings with NGOs, economic organizations, and others, as well as through the public comment procedure.
  2. Based on this Charter, Japan will continue to implement development cooperation in a more effective and strategic manner in order to actively contribute to ensuring peace and prosperity of the international community and Japan.
