Japan supports the rehabilitation of the water network in the southern suburbs of Beirut

On October 21, Ambassador Okubo participated in the inauguration of a project funded by Japan that rehabilitated the water network in the southern suburbs of Beirut through UNICEF. This initiative is to establish a sustainable water system for this region by linking the network to a large water reservoir constructed also by Japanese assistance in the previous year. Through this comprehensive support, Japan aimed to respond to the ongoing water crisis in Lebanon, by increasing the residents’ access to safe water at affordable cost and ensuring sustainable distribution. Japan will continue to exert all available efforts to help Lebanon address its most pressing needs through various development and humanitarian projects.
