On June 10, Counsellor Kiyoshi Mihara participated in the closing ceremony of a UN-Habitat project, funded under a grant from Japan, and which included the rehabilitation of streets and infrastructure in the Maraach neighborhood of Bourj Hammoud that sustained heavy damages following the August 4, 2020 explosion.

This initiative comes within the framework of Japan's direct response to the devastating repercussions of the port explosion, which aimed to support reconstruction efforts in Lebanon to help the country recover in a sustainable manner.
