Japan Supports Lebanon’s sustainable management of e-waste through UNDP

On June 9, Ambassador Okubo participated in the launch of Lebanon’s National E-waste Monitor at the Ministry of Environment, in the framework of a project funded by a grant from Japan through the UNDP.
The Japanese grant supported Lebanon in assessing the situation of e-waste in the country, where random disposal that got exacerbated by the tragic August 4 explosion has become a serious threat to public health and the environment. This initiative contributed to the establishment of an action plan that aims at achieving sustainable management of e-waste at the national level.
