On March 10, Ambassador Okubo participated in the re-opening ceremony of the Ministry of Public Health’s Central Drug Warehouse, which was made possible in the framework of a project implemented by WHO and financed by a Japanese grant.

Having experienced the biggest explosion in human history 77 years ago, Japan strongly sympathized with Lebanon following the tragic August 4 explosion. After its destruction in the wake of the disaster, Japan rushed to support the reconstruction efforts of the Warehouse to help safeguard and ensure the continuity of the distribution of essential medications and medical supplies, relied upon by millions of patients.
Japan will continue to assign an utmost priority for the support of Lebanon’s medical sector, to help ensure that necessary treatments are accessible to all, in particular to the most disadvantaged communities.
