Symposium titled “Japan and Lebanon: Trajectories of Reconstruction” Issam Fares Institute at the AUB
2022/3/9
On 8th March, Issam Fares Institute (IFI) at the AUB launched the symposium titled “Japan and Lebanon: Trajectories of Reconstruction” in collaboration with Embassy of Japan in Lebanon.
Lebanon and Japan had experienced devastating wars and disasters, but both rose up out of a heap of debris in different journeys of reconstruction and recovery. While the world is currently facing difficult issues, we need a model of peaceful coexistence between different religions and sects as Lebanon has built so far.
From the Japanese side, we would like to contribute to the world by sharing the knowledge of the fields of reconstruction and disaster prevention.
In this regard, it was a great opportunity to exchange opinions and share our history and knowledge. We hope that Japanese experience and the lessons we have learned will be useful for the future of Lebanon.
