Japan confers a decoration on H.E. Mr. Yassine Jaber, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Committee of the Lebanese Parliament

The Embassy of Japan in Lebanon is pleased to announce that on April 29, the Government of Japan has decided to confer a decoration on H.E. Mr. Yassine Jaber, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Committee.

H.E. Mr. Jaber is to be awarded “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star” in appreciation of his outstanding contribution to strengthening the bilateral relations between Japan and Lebanon. Specifically, he has also demonstrated his strong leadership in bringing the parliaments of the two nations closer in his capacity as a Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the Lebanese-Japanese Friendship for nearly 20 years.

Furthermore, H.E. Mr. Jaber played a proactive role in solidifying the foundation of trade and commerce between the two countries during his mission as the Minister of Economy and Trade from 1995 to 1998.

We are profoundlygrateful for his longstanding commitment to improving the Japan-Lebanese bond and friendship in various spheres.
