Japan Provides Medical Equipment for Hazmieh Municipal Primary Health Care Center
With a grant of 89,147 U.S. dollars, and through the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Program (GGP), the Government of Japan provided medical equipment for Hazmieh Municipal Primary Health Care Center (PHCC)—a center to provide quality medical services at affordable costs—to enhance accessibility to such services for both refugees and their host communities.
On February 28, 2020. Ambassador OKUBO Takeshi attended the project completion ceremony. The event was hosted by Jean El Asmar, President of Hazmieh Municipality; and Dr. Farid Boustany, Member of Parliament, attended the event as well.
In his speech, President El Asmar congratulated the residents of Hazmieh on the completion of the center and expressed his appreciation for Japan’s generous assistance. Dr. Boustany also extended his deep gratitude for Japan’s continuous support to Lebanon in a variety of sectors. Ambassador Okubo commended Hazmieh Municipality in its supporting the communities, and assured that Japan would stand ready to continue supporting Lebanon and its new government facing the enormous challenges.
