Japan Supports the Rehabilitation of Sbouba Public School through LOST
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance the quality of education in Lebanon, The Embassy of Japan supports the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST), for the rehabilitation of Sbouba Public School, in the village of Sbouba, in Baalbek - El Hermel. The Village is unfortunately deprived of developmental projects and enhanced public services, due to the complete absence of a municipality.
To fund the project, on November 18 2019, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon signed a grant contract with Dr. Ramy Lakkis, Director of LOST, a local NGO that has been providing various services including education, humanitarian assistance, and health to the people of Baalbek and El Hermel. With a grant of USD 58,385, this project will benefit at least 85 students annually.
