Japan Provides a Fire Fighting Truck to Southern Suburb Municipalities Federation
2019/11/6
The Embassy of Japan provided a compact firefighting truck to the Southern Suburb Municipalities Federation to enhance the capacity of the Federation’s fire defense department. The truck will be used to access the narrow streets due to random and unplanned constructions and the presence of Palestinian refugee camps, which make the region more vulnerable to fires and disasters.
To fund the project, on November 06, 2019, Mr. Yoshitake Naraoka, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan to Lebanon signed a grant contract with Mr. Mohamad Dergham, Head of Southern Suburb Municipalities Federation. With a grant of USD 125,219, this project will benefit at least 830,000 residents and refugees in the area.
