Japan Supports the Palestinian Red Crescent Society - Lebanon

As part of its continuous effort to support the Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon, the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon provided medical equipment for the newly renovated emergency department at Haifa hospital of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Lebanon (PRCS-L), in order to improve the quality of the provided medical services in Palestinian Camps.

On the occasion of the project completion, on September 11 2019, H.E. Mr. Matahiro Yamaguchi, Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, attended an inauguration ceremony in Burj Al Barajneh Palestinian Camp organized by PRCS-L. The Ceremony was also attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Lebanon H.E. Mr. Ashraf Dabour, the Japanese Red Cross Team and the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) that funded the rehabilitation of the emergency department. During the ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Yamaguchi announced the signing of a new Japanese grant of 86,060 USD. With this support, Japan has provided a total of 258,656 USD to PRCS-L since 2017 in order to enhance the capacity of its hospitals, and optimize the provided medical services.
