Japan Supports Rehabilitation of the Electricity Network in Burj El Barajneh Palestinian Refugee Camp

The Embassy of Japan supports the rehabilitation of the electricity network in Burj El Barajneh Palestine Refugee Camp, in order to improve the quality of life in the camp.
To fund the project, on February 28 2018, H.E. Mr. Matahiro Yamaguchi, Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon signed a grant contract with Mrs. Mariam AlShaar, Secretary of Women's Programme Association (WPA), in the presence of H.E. Mr. Ashraf Dabour, Palestine Ambassador to Lebanon. WPA is a local NGO that has been supporting women within Palestinian camps with educational and vocational trainings. With a grant of USD 90,900, around 4,000 residents in the camp will benefit from the project.
