Ambassador Otsuka celebrates the completion of a project to improve the quality of medical services in Bourj Hammoud

Friday 20 May 2016 – Ambassador Otsuka visited the Araxie Boulghourdjian Socio Medical Center in Bourj Hammoud upon the completion of a project funded by the Government of Japan that equipped a new computed radiography (CR) system and the other necessary items.

Armenian Relief Cross in Lebanon (ARCL) is a non-profit organization led by female volunteers, and its medical center has been offering affordable and comprehensive healthcare services for local communities since 1987. Today, the center is facing growing demands from both Lebanese populations and displaced Syrians.

Through the project, Japan assisted ARCL in installing a new CR system that is vital for accurate diagnosis in the radiology department. Also, the project renovated the air-conditioning system as well as the lift of the center. More people are expected to benefit from the improved services.
