Japan assists Urban Community Al Fayhaa

Japan supports Urban Community Al Fayhaa for purchasing the Fire Engines. These Fire Engines are expected to contribute for the improvement of the fire fighting services in North Lebanon. Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon Mr. Koichi Kawakami and the President of Urban Community Al Fayhaa, Mr. Rachid El Jamali, signed the grant contract of US$94,620 to this effect at the Embassy of Japan on 27th January 2010.

This is funded by “Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Project (GGP)” of Japan. Japan’s GGP supports development projects at grass-roots level proposed by such bodies as nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and local governmental authorities in Lebanon. Japan has so far extended through GGP more than US$ 9 million since 1996.
