Japan assists Souren Khanamirian Secondary School

Japan will donate US$ 82,942 through its Grassroots Grants Program to the Souren Khanamirian Secondary School in Fanar, to provide it with a general heating system and to rehabilitate the school’s building to make it a more suitable educational environment for children.
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon, Mr. Tatsuyuki Ueda, and the Bishop Kegham Khajerian, Prelate of the Armenians in Lebanon and president of the Prelacy’s schools, signed a contract to this effect at the Armenian Prelacy in Beirut today.
Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.4 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
