Japan assists Inaya Foundation

(3 March 2009)

Japan will donate US$ 80,661 through its Grassroots Grants Program to the Inaya Foundation to provide it with a bus to transport the handicapped, educational equipments such as chairs and desks, and rehabilitation of the premises of the foundation to make it a more suitable educational environment for the physically and/or mentally handicapped within the area.

Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, and the president of Inaya Foundation, Mr. Boulos Khalil Khawam, signed a contract to this effect at the Embassy of Japan today.

Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
