Japan assists Municipality of ٍSoujoud

Japan will donate US$ 32,000 through its Grassroots Grants Program to the Municipality of Soujoud for equipping a skid-steer loader which can contribute to the environmental improvement in Soujoud.

Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Soujoud, Mr. Afif Nassereddine, signed a contract to this effect at the Embassy of Japan today.

Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
