Japan assists Al Shahar West Governmental Hospital

Japan will donate US$ 70,619 through its Grassroots Grants Program to the Al Shahar West Governmental Hospital. The Charge d'Affairs a.i. of the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon, Mr. Tatsuyuki Ueda and the Director-General of the Al Shahar West Governmental Hospital, Mr. Tarek Al Zoor, signed a contract to this effect at the Embassy of Japan today.

The grant aims at equipping the hospital with an ultrasound machine with high performance which will be able to improve the quality of diagnosis for obstetrics, gynecology, radiology, and cardiac applications.

Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
