Japanese ambassador inaugurates Educational
Equipments and Rehabilitated Playgroud for Imam Al Baqer School
Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Embassy of Japan, Mr. Tatsuyuki Ueda, inaugurated
on Sunday 30 November, 2008, at the Imam Al Baqer School in Hermel at Beqaa,
a project that was financed by the government of Japan through its Grassroots
Grants Programme and implemented by the association.
The US$ 89,639-project was consisted of equipping the school
with educational equipment and rehabilitating its playground and was implemented
in accordance with a contract signed by the Embassy of Japan and Imam Al Baqer
School on February 22, 2007.
Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more
than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout
Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private
schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
