Japanese ambassador inaugurates medical equipments for the Sisters of Charity in Ain Ibel


Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, inaugurated on Friday 29 August, 2008, at the laboratory of the Socio-medical center of the Sisters of Charity in Ain Ibel, a project that was financed by the government of Japan through its Grassroots Grants Program and implemented by the association.

The US$89,715-project was implemented in accordance with a contract signed by the Embassy of Japan and the Sisters of Charity on February 19, 2007, and consisted of equipping the center’s laboratory with several equipments.

Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
