Japanese ambassador inaugurates medical equipments for Al-Zaaiter Charitable Association
Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, inaugurated on Thursday 21 August, 2008, at the medical dispensary of Al-Zaaiter Charitable Association in Iaat, Baalbeck, a project that was financed by the government of Japan through its Grassroots Grants Program and implemented by the association.
The US$50,350-project was implemented in accordance with a contract signed by the Embassy of Japan and Al-Zaaiter Charitable Association on February 26, 2007 and consisted of equipping the medical dispensary with a biochemistry analyzer, a cell counter, and several related medical devices.
Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
