Japanese ambassador inaugurates industrial kitchen equipments for René Moawad Foundation
Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, inaugurated on Monday 18 August, at the Agricultural Center of the North (CAN) in Mejdlaya, a project that was financed by the government of Japan through its Grassroots Grants Programme and implemented by René Moawad Foundation.The US$70,047-project was implemented in accordance with a contract signed by the Embassy of Japan and René Moawad Foundation on September 1, 2004 and consisted of equipping a bakery section, industrial-size fridges, washers, and cooking utensils.
Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
