Japan will donate US$ 49,696 through its Grassroots Grants Program to the Association of Health and Social Work in Tripoli. Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda and the president of the association, Mr. Mohamad Achraf El-Mawas, signed a contract to this effect at the Embassy of Japan today.
The grant aims at equipping a dispensary run by the association with various medical equipments.
Japan’s Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 7.6 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
