Japanese Grant to the Maronite Assylum for the Elderly

Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon Mr. Tokumitsu Murakami inaugurated today in Furn El-Shebak a project for providing furniture to the Maronite Assylum for the Elderly that was funded by Japan through its Grassroots Grants Program.

The project, of a total value of US$80,375, consisted of equipping the asylum with 50 beds and side tables.

Japan, through its Grassroots Grant Program, has extended approximately US$ 7 Million since 1996 to NGOs, municipalities, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations to help them implement flexible and timely development projects in various Lebanese regions.
