Japan will donate US$ 10,920 through its Grassroots Grants Program to Women's Cooperative Association for Food Processing in Wadi Al-Taym, Rachaya, for equipping the association's center with an electricity generator.
Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon Mr. Tokumitsu Murakami and the director of the association, Mrs. Linda Fayek, signed Tueday, November 8, 2005, a contract to this effect at the Japanese Embassy's premises in Beirut.
Japan's Grassroots Grants Program has extended approximately US$ 6.5 Million of financial assistance since 1996 to support various development projects throughout Lebanon that were proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
