Japan assists Saint Joseph University

Japan supports Saint Joseph University for improving audio-visual environment of the University. This support is aimed at equipping the new Lighting, Sound and Audio-Visual equipment in Amphitheatre “Gulbenkian”. The Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon Mr. Koichi Kawakami and the President of Saint Joseph University, Fr. René Chamussy, signed the grant contract of US$24,060 to this effect at the Embassy of Japan on 1 March 2010.
This is funded by “Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects (GCGP)” of Japan. Japan’s GCGP supports the cultural projects at grass-roots level proposed by such bodies as NGOs and municipalities, and educational, cultural and sports organizations. Japan has extended US$233,964 since 2001 up to present.
