Ambassador Otsuka visited Chebaa to inaugurate the new X-ray department of Al Rahma Medical Center
Thursday, September 22, 2016 – Ambassador Otsuka visited Al Rahma Medical Center in Chebaa upon the completion of a project funded by the Government of Japan.
The center is managed by the Islamic Association for Care and Development, a NGO that was founded in 1994 aiming to support vulnerable refugees and host communities. In 2014, the organization established Al Rahma Medical Center in Chebaa, to provide residents and displaced Syrians with healthcare services. These services that used to be provided by distant medical facilities, are now accessible by residents and refugees for a lower cost.
Through the project, Japan assisted the Islamic Association for Care and Development, in establishing a new x-ray department to increase the quality of healthcare services in the center. With this project, the center is now able to offer patients radiology services, and help them with the early diagnosis of diseases.
