Japanese ambassador inaugurates a project in Aita Chaab

 

 

Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, inaugurated on Wednesday 18 June, in Aita Chaab, a project that was financed by the government of Japan through its Grassroots Grants Programme and implemented by the School of Children With Special Needs.

 

The US$85,754-project, the contract of which was signed by the Embassy of Japan and the School of Children With Special Needs on January 25, 2007, consists of a constructing retaining wall with lamps, rehabilitating the schoolfs playground and installing an elevator in order to secure the safety of disabled learners.

 

Japanfs Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
