Japanese ambassador inaugurates a project in Aita Chaab



Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Mr. Yoshihisa Kuroda, inaugurated on Wednesday 18 June, in Aita Chaab, a project that was financed by the government of Japan through its Grassroots Grants Programme and implemented by the School of Children With Special Needs.


The US$85,754-project, the contract of which was signed by the Embassy of Japan and the School of Children With Special Needs on January 25, 2007, consists of a constructing retaining wall with lamps, rehabilitating the schoolfs playground and installing an elevator in order to secure the safety of disabled learners.


Japanfs Grassroots Grants Program has so far extended more than US$ 8.3 Million since 1996 to finance development projects throughout Lebanon proposed and implemented by municipalities, NGOs, hospitals, private schools, research institutes, and other non-profit organizations.
