Any organization or body, etc. planning a project and seeking the nominal support of the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon should click here and file an application by mail with the required application documents.
Please note that nominal support may not be granted depending on the content of the project. 


4. Rental of Japanese materials

The Embassy has some Japanese decorative items which may be nice to display as part of an exhibition for any event related to Japan at University or school or any NGO.
 

1. The event needs
    - to be firmly related to Japan
    - to be politically and religiously impartial
    - to be non-profitable
    - to be open to public

2. Submit a request explaining the event and designating the nature, place, date and time of the event at least three weeks prior to the event to culture@bt.mofa.go.jp.
3.
The chosen items are taken and brought back to the Embassy’s premises in Beirut and handled to the person in charge.
4.
After selecting the rental items, sign a pledge to be able to use the items.

 

Education

1. MEXT Scholarship for post-graduate studies

The Government of Japan offers Lebanese students The MEXT Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies in Japan.

The scholarship program covers all the fields of study at all the Japanese universities and will provide full coverage of tuition plus monthly allowance to the students.

No prior knowledge of Japanese language is required. However, knowledge of Japanese is definitely a plus in the application process. The applicant must be under 35 years old, bear Lebanese nationality and is required to submit the application filled with all the requested documents.

An applicant should apply for the field of study he/she studied previously at university or a related field. Applicant must choose a field on which he/she can receive education and perform research at the university of his/her choice.

If a grantee enrolls in a master's course, doctoral course, or professional graduate course after arrival to Japan, regardless of the time of his/her arrival in Japan the scholarship will cover him/her for a period necessary to complete his/her regular course (standard course term). (Plus a 6-month Japanese language training period for a grantee who needs such training.)

If Grantee desires to proceed to a regular graduate course from a Research Student course, or to a doctoral course from a master’s course or a professional graduate course, he/she may have the term of his/her scholarship extended upon successful examination by MEXT provided that he/she has outstanding academic achievement that meets certain criteria.

2. MEXT Scholarship for College of Technology studies

The Government of Japan is offering the MEXT Scholarship for College of Technology Studies in Japan to Lebanese students.

The scholarship program covers the following majors: (1) Mechanical Engineering; (2) Electrical Engineering; (3) Information, Communication and Network Engineering; (4) Materials Engineering; (5) Architecture; (6) Civil Engineering; (7) Maritime Engineering; (8) Other fields and will provide full coverage of tuition plus monthly allowance to the students.

The applicant must be between 17 to 22 years old, and hold the Lebanese nationality and is required to submit the application filled with all the requested documents.
The applicant must select a “Field of Study” and “Majors and related Key terms” from the Annex “Majors and Related Key Terms for Field of Study”. Applicant must select a first, a second and a third choice of field of study.

The scholarship period will last for four years including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects to be provided upon arrival in Japan. For scholarship grantees majoring in maritime engineering, the scholarship period will be four and a half years.

If a grantee graduates from a college of technology and is admitted for enrollment in an advanced course at a college of technology or university as a junior transferee, he/she may have the period of his/her scholarship extended upon successful examination by MEXT and provided that he/she has outstanding academic achievement that meets certain criteria. If a grantee completes an advanced course at a college of technology and satisfies the requirements established by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation, he/she may apply to the Institution for a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
 

3. MEXT Scholarship for Undergraduate studies
 

The Government of Japan is offering the MEXT Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies in Japan to Lebanese students.

The scholarship program covers Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences majors and will provide full coverage of tuition plus monthly allowance to the students.

The applicant must be between 18 to 24 years old, and hold the Lebanese nationality and is required to submit the application filled with all the requested documents.

The applicant must select a “Field of Study, Course and Major”. Applicant must select a first, a second and a third choice of field of study.

The scholarship period will last for five years including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects to be provided upon arrival in Japan. For scholarship grantees majoring in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or pharmacy, the scholarship period will be seven years.

If a grantee graduates from an undergraduate course and is admitted to a master’s course at a graduate school during the period of his/her scholarship and has outstanding academic achievement that meets certain criteria, he/she may have the period of his/her scholarship extended upon successful examination by MEXT.
